EMILY WU

Raised just outside the great city of Chicago, Emily found her calling to practice architecture after landing in the beautiful, majestic Pacific Northwest. Surrounded by vast natural resources, she was inspired to pursue a career that was actionable toward environmental stewardship by way of thoughtful design.

At first, this was by obtaining a Bachlor of Architecture degree from the University of Oregon, which is often considered the leading school in the country on the subject of sustainable design. She then started her career working with SUM Design Studio + Architecture and later worked with Guggenheim Architecture + Design.

Since then, Emily has expanded her pursuit after developing an interest in the relationship between psychology and place. She recognizes that the spaces we conduct our lives in, from wilderness to the built environment, have a significant impact on our well-being.

Emily considers her work as an Architect improving the built environment to be her very humble contribution to bettering the well-being of society. One room at a time, she vows to set the stage for lives to flourish full of joy, peace, and fun.

Beyond her work as an Architect, Emily is raising her two fascinating children with her husband, Ben (of Woodblock Construction), in SE Portland, Oregon.
